In Loving Memory

Annie V. Ryan
September 23, 1936 — August 10, 2026
Annie V. Ryan, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 89.
Annie was born on September 23, 1936, in Derrytransa County Armagh, in the North of Ireland, to Edward and Anne (Duffy) Skelton. In 1955, she bravely came to America, arriving in New York before making her way to Chicago, where her older sister, Mary, was living.
Annie began her working life as a beautician before later working at Western Electric, then to retire from the Clerks office at Rolling Meadows Court house. She married and devoted herself to raising her three sons, Desmond Ryan (Jennifer), Edward Ryan (Kristine), and Kevin Ryan (Vicki). She was a loving and devoted mother whose family was always the center of her life.
Annie was a proud grandmother to Leah, Patrick, Desmond Jr., and Evelyn. She cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and took great joy in watching her family grow.
In 1972, Annie moved to Arlington Heights, Illinois, where she made her home for over 50 years. There, she built a life filled with family, friendships, laughter, and cherished memories.
Annie is survived by Gertrude, Laurence and Malachy all Skelton. Annie was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Anne Skelton; her brothers, Hugh Skelton and Desmond Skelton; and her sisters, Kathleen Skelton and Angela (Mary) Skelton.
She will be deeply missed by her sons, grandchildren, extended family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Her memory will live on in the family she cherished and the many lives she touched throughout

May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, the rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
