On May 23, 2026, at the age of 97, Annie passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and devotion. Born to Tom and Jessie Mae Reed Johnson, Annie was the embodiment of kindness and strength, values instilled in her from an early age. Her journey was shared with her loving husband, John Henry Lovelace, affectionately known as "Bae," whom she married in 1949. Together, they cultivated a family filled with warmth and joy, a testament to their unwavering commitment to one another. Annie's academic journey led her to graduate from East Depot High School in 1948, setting the foundation for a life dedicated to service and artistry. Her career as the Arts and Kraft coordinator at the Senior Citizens Center was more than just a job; it was a calling. Annie had an innate ability to nurture creativity, a gift she generously shared with countless seniors, enriching their lives with color and imagination. A longtime member of Harris Memorial CME Church, Annie's faith was a cornerstone of her existence, guiding her through life's trials and triumphs. Her spiritual community was an extension of her family, offering her solace and strength throughout her years. Annie possessed a remarkable talent for making ceramics and knitting, often crafting her own outfits, each piece a reflection of her vibrant spirit and meticulous craftsmanship. Her creations were more than just objects; they were expressions of love, imbued with the care and attention that only Annie could provide. Family was the heart of Annie's world. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John Henry, her parents, her siblings Thomas Jefferson (TJ), Jessie Mae (Sibbie), Walter Johnson, Helen Johnson, Clifford Johnson, Dorthy Lee (Dot), Sandra Marie, and her cherished daughter, Sonja Ann Bradford. Their memories lived on within her, cherished and remembered with every beat of her heart.
