Obituary: Annie L. Wade February 8, 1952 - July 19, 2026 With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Annie L. Wade, who peacefully left us on July 19, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, after courageously battling illness. Annie was embraced by the love of her family throughout her journey and now rests in eternal peace. Born on February 8, 1952, in the warm embrace of Mississippi, Annie was the cherished daughter of Johnnie and Annie Davis. She was preceded in death by her dear parents, her brother, Johnnie Davis Jr., and her son, George Jackson. They are reunited once more, bound by an unbreakable familial love. Annie was the devoted wife of Milton Wade Sr., with whom she celebrated 50 beautiful years of marriage. Their union, formed on June 21, 1976, in Washington Park, IL, was a testament to enduring love and companionship. Together, they nurtured and raised five children, building a life enriched with laughter, support, and unwavering devotion. Annie's life was a beacon of kindness and generosity. She leaves behind her loving husband, Milton Wade Sr., and her children: Milton Wade Jr., Kevin Davis, Monica Miller, and Tracey Wade-Reed. Her legacy is carried forward by her 25 adoring grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, each a testament to her nurturing spirit and boundless love. Annie's academic journey began at E St. Louis Sr High School, and she went on to earn her Master's degree from the University of Edwardsville. Her career was marked by dedication and compassion, having worked for 20 years at Calvin Johnson and 30 years at St. Elizabeth Hospital before retiring in 2009. Annie was known for her mentorship, guiding young nurses and leading her team in the ER and OB departments with grace and expertise. Her passions were deeply rooted in family and nature. Annie found joy in tending to her garden, surrounded by the beauty of her flowers, and cherished every moment spent with her family. Her home was a haven of warmth where siblings, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews were always welcome. A celebration of Annie's life will be held on August 8, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Mount Olive Baptist Church, located at 1430 Summit, East St. Louis, IL 62205. Family and friends are invited to honor her memory and the extraordinary life she led. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made in Annie's memory to a charity of your choice. Annie's family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support. She was a loving wife, sister, mother, and grandmother whose legacy of love will continue to inspire all who knew her.
