Annie Louise Mann Williams
December 24, 1946 — July 9, 2026
It is with profound sadness and heartfelt gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Annie Louise Mann Williams on July 9, 2026. Born on December 24, 1946, in Merry Hill and Windsor, North Carolina, Annie was the cherished daughter of Louise Mann Racoe and Robert Smithwick. Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and the enduring power of family.
Annie shared an extraordinary love story with her late husband, John Henry Williams Sr., with whom she celebrated 60 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they built a family filled with love and laughter, raising six children: Allen Ray Williams, John Henry Williams Jr., Lorie Ann Williams Hyman, Clarence Eugene Williams, Shirley Mae Ebron (Kenneth Wayne Ebron), and Ronald Lee Williams. She was predeceased by her beloved son, John Lewis Williams, and now joins him and her husband in eternal peace.
A devoted grandmother to 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, Annie's nurturing spirit and contagious warmth created a legacy of love that will be carried forward by her family. Her home was always a gathering place, filled with the sounds of laughter, music, and the delicious aromas of her cooking.
Though Annie left formal education in the ninth grade, her passion for learning never waned. She loved the piano and found joy in spelling and math. Her career as a Nurse Assistant spanned 23 years, during which she dedicated herself to the care of others in nursing homes across Edenton and Windsor. Her compassion and kindness left an indelible mark on the lives she touched.
Annie was an active member of the House of Prayer Deliverance Ministries, where she found strength and community under the guidance of Pastor Lewis and First Lady Glaspie. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, providing comfort and direction.
Her passions were as varied as they were heartfelt. Annie delighted in cooking and cleaning, not just for herself but for others, and found solace in the simplicity of fishing at the Nags Head Fishing Pier. She loved singing and took every opportunity to offer encouragement and support to those around her.
Annie's family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at Walkers Funeral Home, the caregivers at Three Rivers Health & Rehabilitation Center, Hospice staff, and medical staff for their compassionate care and support.
A celebration of Annie's life will be held on July 18, 2026, at Walkers Funeral Home, Windsor, NC. The family invites those who knew and loved Annie to join them in honoring her memory.
