Annie G McCleod Annie G McCleod, a beloved matriarch and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026, at the age of 87, surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 30, 1939, in the quaint town of Rose Hill, North Carolina, Annie was the treasured daughter of Jonathan and Florence McMillan, who predeceased her. Annie’s life was marked by a profound dedication to her family and community. She was the devoted mother of Joel, Gerald, and Dwight Williams, and leaves behind a large, loving family who mourns her deeply. Her surviving children include Samantha Foster of California, Wanda Gary of Virginia, Henry and Ruth Williams of Washington State, Sonja and Bernard Woodward of North Carolina, Bridget Griffin of Washington State, Jerry Williams of California, Harriett and Mark Barnes of Nebraska, and Jamie McCleod of Nebraska. She was a cherished sister to Shirley McMillan and Jerelane Merritt of North Carolina. Annie’s legacy is carried on by her 23 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life. Her family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Annie was also blessed with a host of other relatives and friends who enriched her life and whom she deeply cherished. For two decades, Annie was a dedicated employee at Walmart, where she worked diligently until her retirement. Her colleagues remember her warmth, kindness, and unwavering work ethic. Annie had a zest for life and a passion for creativity. She found joy in sewing and quilting, spending countless hours crafting beautiful pieces that are now cherished heirlooms. Her garden was her sanctuary, where she lovingly tended to her flowers, and she was an avid fan of word games, with a particular fondness for UNO. Annie’s life will be celebrated at a service on June 27, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Red Bridge Church, located at 5020 Grant St, Omaha, NE 68104. Her family invites all who knew her to attend and honor the remarkable life she led. Annie G McCleod was a beacon of love, strength, and resilience. Her spirit will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
