Annabelle Carrillo Cavazos, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully passed away in her sleep on July 6, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with dementia. Annabelle was 75 years old. Born on March 14, 1951, in Alice, Texas, Annabelle was the cherished daughter of the late Fernando (Fene) Carrillo and Luby Carrales Carrillo. She found her lifelong partner in David Cavazos, with whom she shared a remarkable 53 years of marriage filled with love and cherished memories. Annabelle was a woman of immense kindness and generosity, known for her infectious laughter and her fondness for sharing jokes and chisme. Her warmth and humor touched the lives of all who knew her, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. A proud graduate of Benavides High School in 1969, Annabelle pursued higher education with determination, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Therapy from North Texas State University. Her passion for education and her dedication to helping others led her to a fulfilling 32-year career in teaching within the Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District. Annabelle’s commitment to her students and her community was unwavering and left a profound impact on countless lives. Annabelle’s legacy continues through her loving family. She is survived by her devoted husband, David Cavazos, and their son, Christopher Cavazos, along with his wife Laura. She was a proud grandmother to Olivia and Lucas Cavazos, whose lives she filled with love and joy. Annabelle is also survived by her brothers, Eddie Carrillo and his wife Delma, and Rolando Carrillo. She was predeceased by her parents and her son, Michael D. Cavazos, who will forever hold a place in her heart. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caretakers who supported Annabelle with compassion and care in her final years. A special thank you is extended to Noemi Ramos, her primary caretaker, for the patience, kindness, and love she showed during these challenging times. Annabelle was truly blessed to have Noemi by her side. A celebration of Annabelle’s life will be held on July 14, 2026. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 am at the Garza Funeral Home in San Diego, Texas. A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 a.m at Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic Church in Benavides, Texas. The funeral mass and burial will follow immediately after the rosary. Friends and family are invited to gather to honor and remember a life well-lived. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Annabelle’s memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting her generous spirit and dedication to helping others. Annabelle Carrillo Cavazos will be dearly missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. May she rest in peace, surrounded by love and fond memories.
