Anna Lou Williford

Anna Lou Williford, a beloved matriarch and shining beacon of warmth and kindness, passed away on August 12, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on December 3, 1935, in Jefferson County, Georgia, Anna was the cherished daughter of T.W. & Eula Mae Harden. She carried the values and love instilled by her parents throughout her life, touching the hearts of everyone she met. Anna's life was a testament to dedication and hard work. She devoted 44 years to the Thomson Company, where her colleagues respected and admired her unyielding commitment and leadership as a Plant Manager until her retirement in the late 1990s. Her professional life was paralleled by her vibrant involvement in the community. While living in Thomson, she was a cherished member of the Garden Club and Young at Hearts at the First Baptist Church. Her presence at the yearly Thomson Company reunion was always a highlight, as friends and former colleagues gathered to share old memories and create new ones. In 2019, Anna moved to Macon and became an active member of the New Heights Baptist Church, where she found joy and purpose in her work as a Hot Dog Club Volunteer. Her generosity and love for helping others were evident in every role she undertook. Anna's hobbies reflected her zest for life—whether she was traveling to new places, cooking delicious meals for her family, indulging in shopping trips, or attending church social events, she embraced each day with enthusiasm and grace. Anna's legacy is carried forward by her devoted family: her daughter, Elaine McTier Register, and son-in-law, Jeff. Her grandchildren, Brandon Register of Atlanta, Steven Register of John's Creek, and Lauren Larrauri (Tony) of Perry, were the light of her life. She was the proud great-grandmother of Anya Register-Gomez and Skyler Register of Macon, Clifton Meeks of John's Creek, and Emma Larrauri of Perry. Anna's love for her family was immeasurable, and her memory will forever be cherished by them. She joins in eternal rest her parents, T.W. and Eula Mae Harden; her sister, Nora Kennedy; her brother, Thomas Harden; her sister, Sarah Mast; her first spouse, Robert E. McTier; her second husband, J.W. Williford; and her son, Anthony (Tony) McTier, who predeceased her. A service celebrating Anna's remarkable life will be held on August 15, 2026, at 7:32 PM. The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the New Heights Baptist Church, Hot Dog Club, an organization dear to Anna's heart.
