Anna Lee Goodrich

Anna Lee Goodrich, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully at her home in the loving company of her family on August 23, 2026. Born on May 13, 1946, in Yakima, Washington, Anna's life was a testament to love, resilience, and the unwavering bonds of family. Anna was the cherished daughter of Beatrice Foster and Johnnie Griffin, and she was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Johnnie Freeman. She is survived by a large and loving family, including her children: Bobby (Renita) Griffin, Sylvia (David) Reid, Paula Goodrich, Lydia (the late Larry) Conner, Roosevelt Price, Sandra Goodrich (Dennis) Jackson, Rochelle Rickman, Maurice Rickman, and Mattie Rickman. Anna was also the proud grandmother of 24 grandchildren: Brittney, Wittney, Jerrica, Jordan, Celita, Regina, Richetta, Christopher, Demtrice, Larry Jr., Lamar, Larissa, Giovanni, Astoria, Tiffine, Dennis Jr., Parlee(Lady), Ny'Kera, Marnar, C.J., Shadreedka, Amiaranna, Tamarion, and Lil Daniel. She had the joy of welcoming 31 great-grandchildren into the world, along with a host of nieces and nephews who admired her deeply. Anna's life was marked by a profound commitment to her family and faith. She married the love of her life, Sylvester Goodrich, on April 6, 1962, in East St. Louis, Illinois, where she also confessed her life to Christ at a young age. Anna was a devoted member of Bethlehem Temple Church in East St. Louis, where her late Aunt Paralee Freeman served as pastor. Her faith and her family were the cornerstones of her joyful and fulfilling life. A nurturing soul, Anna never met a stranger. Her warmth and generosity earned her the affectionate titles of "Momma Ann" and "Granny Ann" to many beyond her immediate family. Her home was always open, and her heart was boundless, offering love and guidance to all who knew her. Anna's love for adventure and her zest for life were evident in her passion for travel and music. She delighted in singing and dancing at family gatherings, where her spirit was as infectious as her smile. Whether enjoying the simple pleasure of sitting outside with family and friends or engaging in a lively game of bingo or a challenging puzzle, Anna embraced every moment with enthusiasm and joy. Her professional life was dedicated to caring for others. Anna worked at a retirement home in Grand Rapids for many years, a role that highlighted her compassionate nature. Her move to Indianapolis in 2014 allowed her to be near her children and grandchildren, where she continued to provide support through transportation services and her unwavering presence. Anna's devotion to her family was unparalleled. Although, she loved her entire family dearly, she shared a very "special and close" bond with two of her granddaughter's: Tiffine, and Ny'Kera and three of her great-grandchildren De'Jyana, "Bam-Bam" and "Nae-Nae," who were all the light of her life. Her protective love and nurturing spirit will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to be touched by her kindness. A special thanks to her Caregiver's, Renea C., and Dennis Jackson, who was also her Grandson that she loved to go visit, and be around. Anna Lee Goodrich's legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire and guide her family and friends. Though she has left this world, her spirit will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
