Anna Lee Bane

Anna Lee Bane, a treasured soul who graced the world with her presence for over a century, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Hubbard Hospice House on August 7, 2026. Born on March 8, 1925, in South Charleston, West Virginia, Anna was the beloved daughter of Jeff and Esta Sapp. Her life was a testament to love, kindness, and unwavering faith. Anna shared a beautiful life with her husband, Rex Bane, who preceded her in death alongside three of her sisters and her parents. Together, Anna and Rex built a loving family, leaving a legacy of warmth and compassion that will be carried forward by their cherished children: daughter Bonnie Powell and her husband Dale, and son Gary Bane and his wife Cindy. Anna's heart was further blessed by the love of her five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren, who will forever remember her gentle spirit and sweet smile. A devoted member of the Spring Hill Baptist Church for 70 years, Anna found joy in singing with the choir and worshiping the Lord. Her life was a symphony of grace and piety, resonating with everyone she met. Known for her tenderness and her immense heart, Anna's presence was a blessing to all, especially the innumerable children she lovingly babysat throughout her life. Anna cherished the simple pleasures of life, such as attending family gatherings, where her warmth and joy always shone brightly. Her legacy is one of enduring love and faith, and she leaves behind a community enriched by her kindness and dedication. A service to honor Anna's remarkable life will be held on August 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Snodgrass Funeral Home, located at 4122 MacCorkle Avenue SW, South Charleston, WV. Family and friends are invited to celebrate a life well-lived and to share in the memories that Anna leaves behind. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of one's choice, continuing Anna's spirit of generosity and care for others.
