Ann Moro

November 12, 1933 — October 23, 2026

Ann Moro, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dear friend to many, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2026. Born on November 12, 1933, in Chicago, IL, Ann was the cherished daughter of John and Mildred Balslew. With a heart full of love and generosity, Ann brightened the lives of everyone she met. Ann was predeceased by her loving parents, her devoted husband Louis, and her grandson Mason. Her legacy lives on through her children: Lynn Keck and her husband Tom, Karl Moro and his wife Peggy, and Janet Barron and her partner Sheldon Smith. She was a proud grandmother to Kristen Keck and her husband Michael Pearce, Meghan Park and her husband Albert, Alyssa Moro, Hayley McGuinness and her husband Henry, and Kendall Barron. Ann's joy extended to her great-grandchildren, Everett, Graham, and Elodie Park, who brought her endless delight. Ann and her late husband Louis shared a beautiful life together, marrying on July 10, 1954. Their journey took them through Elmwood Park, Franklin Park, Champaign, Oklahoma, and Chicago before they settled in Schaumburg over six decades ago, creating a warm and loving home. A graduate of Proviso High School in 1951, Ann maintained lifelong friendships with "The Chicks," a group of dear friends who enriched her life with laughter and companionship. Her first job was at Russell's Barbeque in Des Plaines, where she worked alongside her friend Janice. Ann's career path led her to roles as a secretary at Hines Hospital, a waitress, a retail worker, and ultimately a dedicated 20-year tenure with the U.S. Census Bureau. Ann was an active member of the Democratic Party, passionately participating in Fourth of July parades. A serious bowler, she cherished her monthly meetings with "The Chicks." Her love for gardening was evident in the bountiful garden she tended with a green thumb, and she was known for her culinary skills, creating delicious meals and baked goods. Ann's talent for sewing shone through the Halloween costumes and clothes she crafted for her family. Her warmth and kindness were hallmarks of her character. Ann was always ready to lend a hand, offer sage advice, or share her home with those in need. Her vibrant spirit and infectious smile made her a joy to be around. A service to honor Ann's life will be held on October 30, 2026, at 11:30 AM at Mt. Emblem Cemetery, located at 520 E Grand Ave, Elmhurst, IL 60126. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Schaumburg Township Library Foundation. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Nicole Brown and those who offered their unwavering support and love during this time. Ann's presence in our lives was a cherished gift, and her memory will forever be embedded in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
