Born on October 23, 1947, in Waterbury, Connecticut, Ann was the beloved daughter of Joseph and Ann Galloway. Her life was a testament to the power of kindness, generosity, and unwavering dedication to helping others. Ann shared a deep and enduring love with her late husband, Bill Johnson. Together, they built a life centered around family, community, and service. Ann is survived by her cherished daughter, Nicole Crank, who was the light of her life. Her brother, Leslie "Boot" Galloway, also survives her, along with numerous nieces and nephews who brought her great joy. Ann was predeceased by her siblings, Josephine Harrison, Jack Galloway, and William Galloway, with whom she shared countless memories of laughter and love. Her steadfast spirit and comforting presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. A distinguished Prevention Counselor at the Health Department for over 40 years, Ann made an indelible impact on countless lives. Her work extended beyond her professional role, as she sponsored and counseled many individuals through Narcotics Anonymous, offering hope and support to those on their journey to recovery. Ann's dedication to advocacy and service was recognized in 1995 when she met President Bill Clinton during the White House Conference on AIDS. Her contributions were further honored when she served as Mayor of the Day in Waterbury, a testament to her influence and commitment to her community. Ann was a proud member of the AME Zion Church, where her faith and fellowship were deeply cherished. She found joy in speaking with others about their experiences, attending N/A meetings, and spending time with her brother Boot and her beloved nieces and nephews. A celebration of Ann's extraordinary life will be held on August 26, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Zion Baptist Church. The service will include guest speakers who will honor her memory and the profound impact she had on so many. For those unable to attend in person, a livestream will be available. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting Ann's lifelong dedication to helping others.
