Anita Thomas, a warm and loving soul cherished by all who knew her, peacefully departed this life on March 30, 2026, at the age of 61, after a courageous battle with end-stage organ failure and cancer in her lungs and throat. Born on November 4, 1964, in vibrant New York, Anita graced the world with her compassionate spirit and unwavering love.
Anita was the beloved daughter of Rose Houth. Though her father remained unknown, Anita's heart was filled with the love and memories of her late mother and father, sister, uncles, and her cherished first husband, Kevin. Their memory continued to live on in the stories she lovingly shared with her family.
Anita was the cherished wife of Eddie, her devoted partner who stood by her side in love and support. Her heart also found joy in her daughter, Natosha, and her husband, Devan, along with their five beautiful children: McKinley, Xaiden, Ellie, Aurella, and Felix. Anita's legacy of love and laughter continues through her son, Jordan, his wife, and their two children. In total, Anita was blessed with seven grandchildren, each a testament to the love and warmth she sowed throughout her life.
Education was a cornerstone of Anita's life. A proud graduate of Remington College in 2005, she fulfilled her dream of becoming a pharmacy technician. Though an unfortunate injury led to her disability, her dreams and aspirations inspired those around her. She embodied resilience and grace, showing how to find joy and purpose even in adversity.
Anita had a magnetic personality, known for her humor and kindness. She was an embodiment of love, a beacon of warmth to friends and family alike. Her joyous laughter and ability to find humor in everyday moments brought light and happiness to those around her.
In her leisure, Anita found immense joy in spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, who were the apples of her eye. Shopping sprees and playful afternoons with animals were among her favorite pastimes, reflecting her love for life's simple pleasures.
As we remember Anita, we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and resilience. She leaves behind a tapestry of beautiful memories and a legacy of love that will continue to inspire those who had the privilege to know her. Her laughter will echo in our hearts, reminding us of her indomitable spirit and the love she so generously shared.
A service celebrating Anita's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and share in the stories and love that defined her life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity supporting cancer research, in hopes of bringing light to others in their time of need, just as Anita did throughout her life.
Anita Thomas will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family and friends, guiding them with her love, humor, and strength.
