Anita Louise (Toney) Troxtell

April 11, 1945 — June 25, 2026

Anita Louise (Toney) Troxtell, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on June 25, 2026, lovingly surrounded by her daughters. Born on April 11, 1945, in the quaint town of Tateville, Kentucky, Anita spent her 81 years filling the world with laughter, love, and a touch of sass that endeared her to everyone she met. The daughter of the late Theodore Paul Sr. and Georgia (Godsey) Toney, Anita grew up in a close-knit family, embracing the values of kindness and generosity that stayed with her throughout her life. She was predeceased by her beloved parents; her brothers, Madison, Jerry, Hershel (Jergen), and Theodore (Butch) Jr. Toney; her sister, Debbie Nunamaker; and her treasured daughters, Rhonda Lee Anderson and Valerie Burton. Despite these losses, Anita's spirit remained unbroken, her resilience shining through as a beacon of strength for her family. Anita's heart and home were always open, and she found her greatest joy in the company of her family. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Roxanna (Gary) Morrow and Stephanie (David) Smith, who carry forward her legacy of love and resilience. Her warmth and humor live on in her grandchildren—Celena, Candice, Travis, Troy, Tracy, Michelle, Brandon, James, Misty, Tasha, Joshua, Monica, and Katie—who fondly recall her hearty laughter and endless storytelling. Her great-grandchildren, Austin, Kristian, Patience, Natalie, Caleb, Caden, Cole, Kylee, Gracie, Kellan, Cee-Cee, Conner, Natalee, Kyndal, Jaylah, Sawyer, Eli, Elijah, Case, Ryder, and Hudson, along with her great-great-grandchildren, Emelyn and Charlotte, were constant sources of joy for Anita, who cherished each moment spent with them. A woman of remarkable dedication and work ethic, Anita retired after a distinguished 30-year career as a manager at McDonald's, where she was known not only for her leadership but for her caring nature and the genuine interest she took in the lives of her team and customers. Beyond her professional achievements, Anita was an avid reader with a particular fondness for romance novels, often losing herself in tales of love and adventure. Her love for puzzles and mysteries kept her mind sharp, and she could often be found engrossed in a western on television, a nod to her love for classic Americana. Anita was the "queen of sass," a woman who knew the value of a good joke and the healing power of laughter. Her unwavering generosity was legendary; she would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need, a testament to her compassionate and selfless nature. Her fierce love for her family and friends was the guiding force of her life, and she leaves behind a legacy of kindness and unwavering support. In honoring Anita’s memory, her grandsons and great-grandsons—Travis, Brandon, Joshua, Kristian, Caleb, and Caden—will serve as pallbearers, a tribute to the strong bonds she nurtured and cherished throughout her life. Anita Louise (Toney) Troxtell's presence will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her life was a testament to the power of love, laughter, and resilience. As we celebrate her life, we find comfort in the many memories she leaves behind, forever holding her in our hearts.
