In Loving Memory of Aniceta Kathiru Nderi March 7, 1944 - July 25, 2026 Aniceta Kathiru Nderi, a dedicated nurse, loving mother, and cherished grandmother, peacefully departed this life on July 25, 2026, at the age of 82. Born in the serene village of Ikuu, Chuka, to the late Benard Njue and Severina Cianthiiri-Njue, Aniceta was a beacon of compassion and strength to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Throughout her life, Aniceta was an embodiment of dedication and service. She was a beloved wife to the late Aletus Mbuko Nderi and a nurturing mother to her children, Eric Munene, David Njue, and Winnie Murugi. Her family circle extended with love to her daughters-in-law and son-in-law, Doreen Njage, Faith Mumbua, and Sean Taylor, and further blossomed with the joy of her six grandchildren: Alex Mwenda, Emmanuel Nderi Njue, Imani Kawira Njue, Amari Musili Njue, Annie Kawira, and Kendi Abigail. Aniceta's journey as a caregiver began with her education as an enrolled nurse. This path defined much of her life as she dedicated over 50 years to tending to the sick and vulnerable. Her career took her from the hospitals of the Kenyan government and Nairobi City Council, where she served for more than three decades, to the United States, where she continued her calling for another 20 years. Aniceta's professional life was marked by a profound commitment to excellence and compassion, leaving a lasting impact on countless lives. She retired for the second time in August 2024, bringing to a close her remarkable career, which she reluctantly left due to health concerns. Aniceta was predeceased by her dear siblings, Elias Kariuki and Jane Kanini, whose memories she cherished deeply. She is survived by her loving siblings: Modesta Ciamwari, Pricilla Igoki, Charles Nderi, Tarasilla Kagenda, Sara Kanari, and Agnes Kanyamu, who remember her as a pillar of strength and unity in their family. Her life, though full of challenges, was a testament to perseverance and love. Aniceta spent nearly two years in retirement before falling ill on the morning of July 24, 2026. Despite the efforts of the caring staff at AAR Kiambu Road Hospital, her condition deteriorated, and she peacefully transitioned at 10:40 a.m. on July 25, 2026. A celebration of Aniceta's life will be held on August 5, 2026, in Cheera Village, Chuka, Tharaka Nithi County, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and the indelible mark she left on their hearts. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in honor of Aniceta's lifelong dedication to caring for others. Aniceta Kathiru Nderi's legacy is one of unwavering love, selfless service, and profound kindness. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered by all who were touched by her warmth and generosity.
