Angelina O. Martinez, lovingly known as a beacon of strength to her family and friends, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 31, 2026, at the age of 98. Born in the quaint town of Hayden, Arizona, on October 21, 1927, she was the cherished daughter of Enrique's Saspez and Estanisloa Ortega.
Angelina's life was a tapestry woven with resilience , and marked by her steadfast spirit and zest for life. She was predeceased by her ex-husband, Antonio R. Martinez, who shared a significant chapter of her journey, and her beloved son, Ronald Martinez. Her departure was also preceded by six brothers and three sisters, with whom she shared her formative years.
Her legacy continues through her devoted children, son Manuel Martinez, daughter Lorraine Granillo, and daughter Norma Martinez Headley, who remain to honor her memory. Angelina's life was further enriched by the love of her ten grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Angelina was a woman of many talents and passions. She worked briefly in a clothing department in California and later as a waitress in Duncan, Arizona. Her career may have been short, but it was her personal interests that truly defined her. She loved the simple pleasures of life—walking, hiking, and embracing the great outdoors. An enthusiastic cook, her kitchen was a place where stories were told, and souls were fed. Her fondness for the occasional beer was a testament to her appreciation for life's little joys.

A service to celebrate the life of Angelina O. Martinez will be held on April 18, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, located at 11 Church Avenue, Superior, AZ 85173.
