Angela "Angie" Johnson, a woman of remarkable warmth and kindness, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026, in her cherished home surrounded by loved ones. Born on April 14, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois, Angela's life was a tapestry of love, service, and unwavering dedication to her family and community. Angela was the beloved daughter of Emma J. Loving and Willie B. Loving, who raised her with tender care and an abundance of love. Her father, Willie, along with her spouse, James M. Hill Jr., sister Eleanor Loving, and brothers Anthony Johnson and Benjamin L. Johnson, predeceased her, leaving a profound legacy of love and resilience. Angela's life was enriched by her surviving family: her devoted mother, Emma J. Loving; her children, Rita Johnson (Troy), James M. Johnson (Angel), and Michael P. Johnson (Dee); her siblings, Nathaniel Loving, Michael Loving, Audrey Clausen, and Constance McKinzie; and her eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, who brought immeasurable joy to her life. Her great-grandchildren and a host of dear friends will forever cherish the memories they shared with Angela. Angela's educational journey began at Carter G. Woodson Elementary School. She continued her studies at Martin Luther King High School and proudly obtained her G.E.D. from Dawson Technical Institute, demonstrating her dedication to personal growth and learning. Professionally, Angela dedicated nine years of her life to home care, providing compassionate support to her clients, including her beloved client Thresa. Her career later led her to McCormick Place, where she discovered her passion for security work. Angela's dedication and commitment were evident during her tenure with Admiral Security Company, where she worked until her well-deserved retirement. Angela had a zest for life that was evident in her hobbies and interests. She found joy in shopping and exploring thrift stores, always appreciating the simple pleasures and treasures life had to offer. Angela possessed an unmatched gift for making people feel welcomed and valued, her love and kindness touching all who had the privilege of knowing her. A service celebrating Angela's life will be held on June 7, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Leaks & Sons Funeral Homes, located at 7838 S. Cottage Grove. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who attend and for the thoughts and prayers offered during this difficult time. Angela Johnson's legacy of love, compassion, and generosity will forever inspire those who knew her. She leaves behind a world made better by her presence, and her memory will be cherished always.
