Angela Short: A Life of Love, Laughter, and Generosity
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Angela Short, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Angela left this world on March 16, 2026, at the age of 52, following complications after a tragic house fire. Born on July 9, 1973, in the vibrant city of Panama City, Florida, Angela's life was a testament to love, resilience, and kindness.
Angela was the daughter of Terry Myers and Linda Rathburn. She grew up surrounded by the warm embrace of her sister Paula Powell, and was proudly nurtured by her adoptive parents, Gene and Cindy Gass.
In 2018, Angela married the love of her life, Ted Short, and together they embarked on a journey filled with shared passions and dreams. Angela was an avid fisherwoman and cherished every opportunity to cast a line alongside Ted, relishing the tranquility and joy that nature offered. Her love for yard sales was legendary; she had an uncanny ability to find the best deals and treasures, turning each outing into an adventure.
Angela was the proud mother of four devoted children: Cody Myers (Erica), Jerry Wood (Chelsea), Marissa Jones (Aaron), and Damon George. Her children were the light of her life, and she rejoiced in their accomplishments and happiness. Angela's nurturing spirit extended to her eight grandchildren Justin Carlisle,Bentley Myers, Canaan Jones, Abram Myers, Samuel Myers, Camden Wood, Maggie Jones and Victoria Jones with whom she shared many cherished moments. Though she has rejoined her predeceased grandson, Abram Myers, in heaven, her legacy lives on in the hearts of her grandchildren.
Angela was a woman of extraordinary warmth and generosity. Known for her vibrant personality, she never met a stranger and was always ready with a helping hand. Her home was a haven for those in need.
