February 12, 1936 — May 23, 2026

It is with profound sadness and love that we announce the passing of Andrews “Ed” Oyervides, a beloved father, brother, and friend, who left this world peacefully on May 23, 2026, at the age of 90. Ed passed away at the compassionate care of Porta Caeli House in Tulsa, OK, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and resilience. Born on February 12, 1936, in the heart of Texas, Ed was a beacon of strength and warmth to all who had the privilege of knowing him. From a young age, Ed demonstrated a steadfast commitment to service and hard work—values that would guide him throughout his life. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps for a decade. His time in the military was marked by courage, camaraderie, and an unyielding sense of duty, characteristics that would continue to define his character long after his service concluded. Following his honorable discharge, Ed embarked on a career as a carpenter, a profession that allowed him to combine his remarkable skills with his love for creating and building. For 35 years, Ed dedicated himself to his craft, leaving behind structures that would stand the test of time, much like the impact he made on those around him. In 2001, Ed retired, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and craftsmanship admired by all who knew him. Ed's life was also deeply enriched by his family. He was a devoted father to his sons, Mark Iyervides and Jeff Oyervides, and his daughter, Kay. His love for them was boundless, and he took immense pride in their achievements and happiness. Ed is also survived by his cherished sister, Ora, and a wide circle of family and friends who will forever remember his gentle spirit and infectious smile. In his final days, Ed was surrounded by the warmth and care of the incredible staff at Porta Caeli House and Hospice. His family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and caregivers who offered unwavering kindness and support during this time. Their compassionate care provided comfort not only to Ed, but also to his loved ones, easing their hearts as they navigated this difficult journey. While we mourn the loss of an extraordinary man, we also celebrate a life well-lived. Ed Oyervides was a man who dedicated his life to serving others, crafting beauty from wood, and nurturing the bonds of family and friendship. He leaves behind a legacy of love, honor, and resilience that will continue to inspire all who knew him. A private memorial service will be held to honor Ed's life and his enduring impact on those who loved him. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Ed’s memory to Porta Caeli House, whose extraordinary care and kindness brought peace and comfort to Ed in his final days. Though he has left this world, Ed's spirit lives on in the hearts of those he touched. He will be deeply missed, yet forever remembered with love and admiration. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love he so generously shared in life.
