It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Andrew Scott Burns, who departed from this world on March 31, 2026, at the age of 42. Born on November 29, 1983, in Independence, Missouri, Andrew was a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Andrew was the beloved son of the late Rebecca Shearer and Ronald Burns, who have predeceased him. He was a devoted brother to Ronnie Burns and Michael Burns, and a caring uncle to his nephews Ryan, Luke, and Louis Burns. Andrew’s best friend of 20 years, Amanda Rathmann, also survives him, carrying forward the memories of their cherished companionship.
Andrew’s early years were spent in Independence, where he attended Polo R7 Middle School and later, William Chrisman High School. His love for learning and his curiosity about the world around him were evident from a young age.
Professionally, Andrew found his niche working as a forklift driver, a role he fulfilled with dedication and pride for 12 years at ATP in the caves. Most recently, he was employed at Aspen Manufacturing in Kansas City, Missouri. Andrew was known for his strong work ethic and camaraderie with his colleagues, always ready with a smile or a helping hand.
Outside of work, Andrew’s passions enriched his life and brought joy to those around him. He was an avid video gamer, finding adventure and challenge in virtual worlds. A loyal sports enthusiast, Andrew never missed an opportunity to cheer on his favorite football teams. Music brought him solace, and the timeless humor of "The Three Stooges" often filled his home with laughter.
Andrew’s warmth, kindness, and genuine spirit left an indelible mark on all who crossed his path. His life was a testament to the power of friendship and family, reminding us of the importance of treasuring our loved ones.
