January 21, 1958 — May 26, 2026
Andrew J. Clark, a man whose intellectual curiosity and kindness touched many lives, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026, at the age of 68. Born on January 21, 1958, in Syracuse, New York, Andrew lived a life filled with learning, love, and a relentless passion for improvement. He was the cherished son of the late Allan P. Clark and Helen S. Clark, and although he now joins them in eternal rest, his legacy of love and wisdom will endure in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
Andrew’s life was a testament to the pursuit of knowledge and the power of education. He graduated from West Genesee High School and went on to earn a Bachelor's degree from Clarkson University. His thirst for knowledge led him to further his education, achieving a Master's degree from Tufts University, followed by another Master's degree and two Advanced Certificates from Syracuse University. His academic accomplishments were a reflection of his deep intellectual curiosity and his belief in the transformative power of education.
Andrew dedicated himself to a fulfilling career that spanned multiple fields. He spent twenty years in the corporate sector before transitioning to higher education for another twenty years, where he shared his insights and inspired countless students. In the latter part of his career, he found joy in consulting, always driven by his passion for improving systems and processes. His colleagues and clients remember him as a man who approached every challenge with kindness and a desire to make things better.
Outside of his professional life, Andrew was a devoted husband to Judith R. Clark, with whom he shared 44 years of marriage, filled with both happiness and growth. Together, they raised a loving family, including their daughter, Dina Jenks, and granddaughter, Sloane Jenks, who brought immense joy to Andrew's life. Sloane, an accomplished artist, was a source of inspiration for Andrew’s own artistic endeavors, which he pursued passionately after retirement.
Andrew found great joy in simple pleasures—reading, relaxing in front of the television, and later in life, exploring his artistic talents across various media. His volunteer work at the Fayetteville Library and with Clear Path for Veterans reflected his commitment to giving back to the community and supporting those in need.
Those who knew Andrew will remember him for his unwavering kindness, his thoughtful approach to life, and his ability to see potential for improvement in every situation. He was a man who practiced kindness not only towards others but also towards himself, a quality that endeared him to everyone he met.
In accordance with Andrew's wishes, a private ceremony will be held to honor his life and legacy. As we remember Andrew J. Clark, let us celebrate a life well-lived, marked by love, learning, and an indomitable spirit of improvement. His memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him, and his legacy will live on through the lives he touched.
