It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Andrew Charles Lamkin, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, who left this world too soon on April 25, 2026. Born on June 18, 1989, in Kansas City, Missouri, Andrew embodied a spirit of warmth and laughter that touched all who knew him. He was 36 years old.
Andrew was the cherished son of Marcia Clausen and the late Charles Lamkin. He was also a devoted grandson to Maryann Clausen and the late Melvin Clausen, as well as Ed and Margaret Lamkin. He left behind a loving family, including his mother Marcia and her husband Bob, his brothers Matthew and Cameron with his wife Katie, and his adored niece Morrison and nephews Marcellus and Jackson. Andrew's family was the cornerstone of his life, and he held them close to his heart, always placing them first and foremost in his world.
A proud graduate of Shawnee Mission West, Andrew completed his education in 2008, carrying with him the friendships and values he cherished throughout his life. He went on to build a successful career in quality assurance at FedEx, where his attention to detail and commitment to excellence were highly valued.
Andrew was a dedicated member of Atonement Lutheran Church, where his presence and participation were appreciated by all who worshiped alongside him. His faith and community involvement were integral parts of his life, providing him with joy and fulfillment.
In his personal life, Andrew was known for his infectious sense of humor and his ability to make people laugh. He had a gift for lightening any mood with a well-timed joke or a playful remark, bringing smiles to the faces of those around him. His love for spending time with family and friends was evident in everything he did, whether it was gathering for a weekend barbecue or simply enjoying each other's company.
Andrew's passion for grilling and smoking meat was legendary among his circle, and it was a craft he perfected over many joyful afternoons spent in the backyard, surrounded by laughter and the aroma of good food. His gatherings were a testament to his love for life and his desire to bring people together.
A celebration of Andrew's life will be held on June 14, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Atonement Lutheran Church, located at 9948 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66212. Family, friends, and all whose lives Andrew touched are invited to join in honoring his legacy and cherishing the memories of the beautiful soul he was.
Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find comfort in the joy and laughter Andrew brought into our lives. His spirit will forever be a guiding light, reminding us to cherish every moment and to love deeply. Rest in peace, dear Andrew. You will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.
