May 1, 1947 — June 9, 2026

Andre Griffin, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, peacefully departed this world on June 9, 2026, at the age of 79, in the loving company of family at his side. Born on May 1, 1947, in Salem, North Carolina, Andre's life was a testament to love, dedication, and an unyielding spirit, even in the face of a long-term illness. Andre was the cherished son of Lonnie and Cassie Griffin, who predeceased him, as well as brother to his late sister, Darlinda Griffin. His early years were marked by deep family bonds and the values of hard work and integrity instilled by his parents. These principles guided him through life, shaping the man he would become. In 1969, Andre married the love of his life, Henrietta Griffin, embarking on a journey together that spanned 57 beautiful years. Their partnership was a beacon of love and mutual respect, creating a legacy of warmth and kindness that is carried forward by their sons, Brunzell and Gregory Griffin. Gregory and his wife Shanice blessed Andre with two grandchildren, Darlinda Griffin and Talathia Sheffield, who brought immense joy and pride to his life. Andre was also fortunate to welcome a great-grandchild into the family, further enriching his legacy. Andre's professional life began with Southern Bell, where he honed skills that would later serve him in his entrepreneurial endeavors. In 1987, he realized a dream by founding Griffin's Trophy Shop, a business that became a cornerstone of the community, known not only for quality craftsmanship but also for Andre's personal touch and genuine care for his customers. Beyond his professional achievements, Andre was a vibrant and active member of the Jacksonville community. He found camaraderie and adventure as a dedicated member of the Jacksonville Trotters Motorcycle Club, where he proudly served as President. His leadership and passion for motorcycling brought together a diverse group of individuals who shared in the joy of the open road and the closeness of a chosen family. Andre's greatest joy, however, was the time spent with his family and friends. Whether gathered for a family meal, sharing stories, or celebrating life's milestones, Andre's presence was a source of warmth and laughter. His legacy of love and commitment to those around him will continue to be a guiding light for all who knew him. In accordance with his wishes, Andre's life will be celebrated in a private ceremony, honoring the intimate connections he cherished most. Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find solace in the memories of a life well-lived and a love that transcends time. Andre Griffin's life was a testament to the power of kindness, the strength of family, and the beauty of a life filled with purpose and passion. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered by his devoted wife Henrietta, his loving sons and daughters-in-law, his treasured grandchildren and great-grandchild, and a host of family and friends who were touched by his generous spirit. May he rest in peace, forever in our hearts.
