With great sorrow, yet profound gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Andre "AP" Petty Sr., who departed this world peacefully on May 24, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on May 11, 1933, in Virginia, Andre was a beacon of strength and warmth, whose influence spanned generations and whose legacy will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him. Andre was the beloved son of the late Lunie and Ora Petty, who instilled in him the values of resilience and dedication that would define his life. He was predeceased by his dear siblings, Ida, Annie, and Eva Petty, as well as his beloved son, Kristin "Big C" Petty Lomax. The family takes solace in knowing they are now reunited in a place of peace. Andre's early years were marked by his honorable service in the United States Army, where he demonstrated steadfast commitment and character. These qualities carried over into his professional life as he embarked on a long and fulfilling career at Dayton Steele, where he worked tirelessly until his retirement. Andre's dedication to his work was matched only by his love for his hobbies, which included riding his motorcycle, fixing up his vans, and hunting. These pursuits were expressions of his boundless passion for life and adventure. A man of many talents and interests, Andre found joy in the open road, where he fostered a sense of brotherhood and shared passion as the Founder and First President of the Vampire Motorcycle Club. His community presence was monumental, and his leadership left a lasting impact on all who rode alongside him. Andre's legacy is lovingly carried forward by his surviving children: Evetta Petty, Theresa Petty, Aundre Petty Jr., Lisa Petty, Anthony Avery, and Quintin Petty. He also leaves behind his devoted friend and mother of his child, Toni Jones, and stepchildren Todd (Chatelle) Jones and Rhonda (Jeffery) Jones-Stokes. His memory will be cherished by his grandsons Damel and Damecia Miller, Quintin "QJ" Petty, Qaydin Petty, his daughter-in-love Brandy Kerley, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends who were touched by his kindness and generosity. A service to honor Andre's remarkable life will be held on June 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Deliverance Temple Ministries, located at 80 E Nottingham Rd, Dayton, Ohio 45405. The family extends their sincere appreciation for the many acts of kindness shown during their time of bereavement and wishes for God’s blessings upon each of you. In celebration of Andre's life, let us remember him as a man who rode through life with love, laughter, and a steadfast commitment to those he held dear. His spirit will continue to guide us, reminding us to live with the same passion and dedication that he exemplified every day.
