Anayansi Alonso Coppin-Haig

Anayansi Alonso Coppin-Haig, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on August 09, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Born on March 1, 1972, in Colón, Panama, Anayansi was the beloved daughter of Marva Irma Coppin and Alonso Brauilo Haig. She was predeceased by her siblings Angelie Marie Coppin, David Coppin-Haig, and Brauilo Jr Coppin-Haig, who she now joins in eternal peace. Anayansi's life was a testament to her commitment to family, education, and community. She began her educational journey at Colegio Abel Bravo de Colón before moving to New York City, where she continued her studies at Erasmus Hall High School. With a passion for learning and self-improvement, she pursued higher education at the University of Panama, earning her Bachelor’s degree. Her academic achievements were a reflection of her determination and perseverance. Her true joy, however, was found in the warmth of her family. Anayansi is survived by her loving children, Nayeli Nayuly John Alonso, Joshua Micheal Coppin-Haig, and Alejandro Rey Alonso, who were the pride and joy of her life. Her legacy extends to her three adored grandchildren, Yoaneth Alacron John, Amayli Reina Alonso, and Jasmine Alonso, Mia Kalilah Haig , Ilyana Haig and Samantha Haig who brought immense happiness to her world. Anayansi also leaves behind her cherished siblings Samuel Acosta Coppin-Haig, Reynaldo Coppin-Haig, and Yahaira Alonso Deliser, alongside her nieces and nephews , Krinza Perez Alonso , Frank Watson , Meiledy Deliser , Melanie Deliser , Roberto Watson and Lorenis Ruiz who all held a special place in her heart. Anayansi had a gift for making those around her feel loved and at ease. Her home was always filled with the aroma of her famous empanadas and chicken soup, culinary delights that brought her family together and will continue to do so in her memory. Her laughter, often heard from a block away, was infectious, and her humor brought light to every room she entered. Anayansi possessed a unique ability to lift spirits and spread joy with her unforgettable smile and warm personality. A service in her honor was held on August 18, 2026, at Iglesia de Dios, located at Calle 6 y Meléndez, where friends and family gathered to celebrate her beautiful life. The family expresses deep gratitude to the Hospital of Colón for their compassionate care and to the church family, relatives, friends, and community for their unwavering support during this difficult time. The family kindly requests that donations be made to The Fibroid Foundation in memory of Anayansi's generous spirit.
