September 27, 1975 – April 3, 2026
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Amy Sue Hill, who gently left this world on April 3, 2026, at her home in Rockford, Illinois, surrounded by her loving husband, Mark, and her cherished furry companions.
Born on September 27, 1975, to Dean and Melody Kubly in Rockford, Illinois, Amy was a beacon of light and warmth throughout her life. Preceded in death by her beloved sister Amanda L. Kubly and her parents, Dean and Melody Kubly, Amy's legacy of love and compassion remains with us.
Amy was a devoted wife to Mark A. Hill, whom she married on a beautiful day, September 28, 2024, at the Medina Wedding Chapel in Wisconsin. Their union was one of mutual respect, affection, and shared dreams, enriched by their love for their three cats, Pikachu, Odin, Susie, and their turtle, Matilda.
Her career in nursing was not merely a job but a calling. Amy's dedication to caring for others was evident in her work at various nursing homes and assisted living facilities in Illinois and Wisconsin. She was a certified nursing assistant and a Wisconsin medication aide, roles she fulfilled with compassion and expertise, touching countless lives with her kindness and skill.
Amy's love for nature was captured through her lens, as she found beauty in the world around her, especially in the majestic Wind Point Lighthouse in Caledonia, Wisconsin. Her photographs tell stories of serene landscapes, historic buildings, and the vibrant lives of people she encountered.
An avid reader and lifelong learner, Amy possessed a keen intellect and a curious mind. She eagerly explored new topics each day, leading conversations with wit and insight, much to the delight of those around her.
Amy's life was enriched by her outgoing personality and her boundless love for all creatures, great and small. Her commitment to understanding and caring for animals was unrivaled, and she was a beloved friend to many, both human and animal alike.
Her departure leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for her husband, Mark, and her extended family of friends. Although Amy did not have children, her nurturing spirit lives on through the lives she touched and the love she shared with her four grandchildren.
In this time of reflection, her family wishes to express their gratitude: "I want to thank everyone who's been there for Amy and myself through the years."
Amy Sue Hill was a remarkable woman whose life was a testament to love, kindness, and the joy of living fully. While her presence will be dearly missed, the warmth of her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
A celebration of Amy's life will be held at a later date, where friends and family will gather to honor a life well lived. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a local animal shelter, in keeping with Amy's lifelong passion for animal welfare.
