She spent her formative years in a nurturing environment that celebrated family values and the joy of community. Amy was preceded in death by her loving parents, her dear sister Sharon Benson, and brother-in-law Mike Benson, with whom she shared countless treasured memories.
As a young woman with an insatiable thirst for knowledge, Amy graduated from Emporia High School in 1982. She pursued her passion for education at Emporia State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree. Amy's nurturing spirit and endless support were the foundation upon which her family thrived.
Beyond her professional and familial achievements, Amy was an active member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, where she found spiritual solace and a community of like-minded individuals. Her hobbies reflected her zest for life and her appreciation for the beauty in the world. A passionate gardener, an animal lover, and an avid traveler, Amy found joy in the simple pleasures, often sharing her adventures and discoveries with those around her.
