In loving memory, we honor the life of Amy Cathleen Hartley, born on July 4, 1976, in Adrian, Michigan. Amy departed this world peacefully on February 24, 2026, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family. Her journey on this earth was filled with kindness, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to those she held dear. Amy was the cherished daughter of Cathy (Commenator) Hartley and the late John Hartley. She was preceded in death by her beloved father, grandparents, two aunts, one uncle, and two cousins, all of whom she held close in her heart. Her memory will be lovingly preserved by her mother, brother Daniel (Alyssa) Hartley of Hudson, MI, sister Sarah Hartley of Superior Township, MI, and her four cherished nieces and nephews: Eli, Luke, Holly, and Trinity. She also leaves behind her uncles, Jim L. (Deanna) Hartley, Dennis (Jill) Hartley, Ralph Commenator, and Ron Bilbry; her aunts, L. Marie Hartley and Marianne (Duane) Suliin; and 14 cousins who will continue to celebrate the joy she brought into their lives. Amy's educational journey began at Sacred Heart School and continued at Hudson Area High School, where she graduated in 1994. She pursued her passion for mathematics, earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Adrian College in 1999, and later, a Master of Arts in Guidance and School Counseling from Siena Heights University in 2005. Her dedication to education was evident throughout her 23-year teaching career, which commenced at Hudson Area School and culminated in two decades of inspiring and nurturing young minds at Jonesville High School. Her students were her greatest love, and she took immense pride in guiding them toward their futures. A devoted member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the MEA, Amy's commitment to service extended beyond the classroom. She contributed her talents to the yearbook and various school committees, always with a heart full of enthusiasm and an infectious sense of humor. Her laughter and generosity were a light to all who knew her. Amy's passions were as vibrant as her spirit. She was an avid crafter, a voracious reader, and proudly collected Hudson Santa Bears, completing the entire set with joy. Her love for Christmas was unparalleled, and she often filled her home with the scents of her delicious baked goods. Yet, above all, Amy's greatest joy was found in the company of her beloved family and students, who were the center of her world. Amy's life was a testament to the power of love, laughter, and dedication. Her fantastic sense of humor and meticulous planning were matched only by her deep-rooted love for family and students. As we celebrate her life, we remember the countless ways she touched our hearts and left an indelible mark on our lives. A service to honor and celebrate Amy's life will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where we will gather to share stories, laughter, and tears as we bid farewell to a remarkable woman who embodied grace, compassion, and unwavering love. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests contributions be made to a scholarship fund in Amy's name, continuing her legacy of empowering and inspiring future generations. Amy Cathleen Hartley will forever be remembered as a beacon of love and light, whose legacy will continue to inspire and uplift all who were fortunate enough to know her.
