Born on December 21, 1977, in Columbus, Ohio, Ameedah was a beacon of light and strength to all who were fortunate to know her. Ameedah was the daughter of Azeez and Afeefah I. Akbar, who, along with her brother Abdullah Akbar and sister Aesha Sha Heed, survive her. She was cherished by a large family that includes numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles spanning South Carolina, North Carolina, Heywood, California, and her hometown of Columbus, Ohio. Their love and support were a testament to the close-knit bonds that Ameedah treasured throughout her life. A proud alumna of Northland High School's Class of 1997, Ameedah was known for her intelligence, grace, and unwavering determination. Her educational journey laid the foundation for a life dedicated to kindness, community, and an unyielding spirit of generosity. Ameedah's memory will be celebrated in a service on July 10, 2026, at 3:00 PM at 3880 Sunbury Road. It is there that family and friends will gather to honor a life that was rich with love and marked by a profound impact on those around her. The family has expressed a preference for donations to be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting Ameedah’s own charitable nature and her commitment to making the world a better place. In the words of her family, Ameedah will remain "Forever in our hearts." Her legacy of courage, love, and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew her.
