In Loving Memory of Amani Woods
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Amani Woods, who left this world far too soon on April 23, 2026, at the tender age of 14. Born on October 3, 2011, in Ridgeway, South Carolina, Amani was a radiant light in the lives of all who knew her. She was the cherished daughter of Jonta Woods and Erica Brown, who remember her as a source of immense joy and pride.
Amani's journey through life, though brief, was filled with love, laughter, and an abundance of kindness. She was known for her incredible sense of humor and her ability to make everyone around her smile. Even during her own struggles, she had an innate gift for lifting the spirits of others, a testament to her resilient and loving nature.
A student at Summit Parkway Middle School, Amani was admired by her peers and teachers alike. She had dreams of becoming a renowned hairstylist, a passion she pursued with enthusiasm and creativity. Amani spent countless hours perfecting her skills, bringing joy to those she styled with her unique flair. Her dedication to her craft was evident to all who knew her, and her talent was remarkable for someone so young.
Amani was also an active member of Newspring Church, where she found a supportive community that embraced her warmth and spirit. Despite her personal battles with mental health, she remained committed to her faith and the principles of kindness and compassion that it instilled in her.
Her family and friends will forever cherish the memories of her laughter, her tender heart, and her unwavering love for those around her. Amani was preceded in death by her grandfather, McAuther Woods, and her childhood best friend, Easton, who undoubtedly welcomed her with open arms.
A celebration of Amani's life will be held on April 29, 2026, at 10:15 a.m. at Nelson's Funeral Home, located at 270 N. Dogwood Ave., Ridgeway, South Carolina. Family, friends, and all whose lives Amani touched are invited to join us in honoring her memory and the beautiful impact she had on the world.
In this time of sorrow, the family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to Ms. Kim. Her unwavering support and compassion provided Amani with a sense of comfort and solace during her most challenging moments. "I want to take a moment to thank you for the care and effort you showed my daughter. It means more than I can fully express to know that she had someone like you who truly tried to support her and be there for her during a difficult time. Your kindness, patience, and concern did not go unnoticed. Knowing that you were someone she could turn to brings a small measure of comfort during this incredibly painful time. Thank you for doing everything you could to help her and for being a positive presence in her life. I am deeply grateful for the role you played and the compassion you showed."
Though Amani's life was cut short, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be remembered not only for her gifts and talents but also for her enduring kindness and the light she brought into the world. May she rest in eternal peace, wrapped in the love of those who went before her.
