In Loving Memory of Alvin Willis Stocks
Alvin Willis Stocks, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on September 12, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on December 31, 1944, in Buffalo, NY, Alvin was the cherished son of Annie and the late Charles Stocks.
Alvin's early years were marked by a deep sense of duty and service. Enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1962, he served his country with honor until 1970, reaching the rank of Sergeant. His time in the military instilled in him values of leadership and resilience, which he carried into every aspect of his life.
After completing his service, Alvin embarked on a remarkable 39-year career at Ford Motor Company. He was not just a dedicated and hard-working employee; he was also a mentor to many young employees, guiding them with wisdom and kindness. Alvin retired in 2009, leaving behind a legacy of excellence and camaraderie that continues to inspire those who knew him.
Alvin was a man of many gifts, known for his quick wit and infectious smile. He had an extraordinary ability to make everyone around him feel welcomed and valued, often with a joke to lighten the mood. His warmth and humor were a comfort to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Tasha Smith, and her husband, Cory, as well as his five grandchildren: Cory Jr, Natasha, Alanna, Krystal, and Micheal. Alvin also leaves behind two great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to his later years. He is survived by his siblings, Tommy, James Sr, and Brenda, and his adored mother, Annie Stocks. Alvin was predeceased by his father, Charles Stocks, whose legacy he continued to honor throughout his life.
