February 8, 1942 — August 20, 2026

Alvin Butler, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness. He was born on February 8, 1942, in Jacksonville, Florida, where he spent his formative years and developed the warm, affable nature that endeared him to so many. Alvin's life was marked by his infectious quick wit and ever-present warm smile, traits that made every room he entered a little brighter. He had a unique ability to lighten any mood with a well-timed joke, and his laughter was infectious, creating a sense of camaraderie and joy among friends and strangers alike. Alvin's kindness and generosity were boundless, touching the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued, a true testament to his character. Family was at the heart of Alvin's world. He is survived by his devoted wife, Lillie Pearl, who was his partner in life for many cherished years. Together, they raised three loving children: Robert, Lisa, and Pamela. Alvin was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren—Latoya, Ashley, Andre, Cyntia, Derrell, Keyanna, Malik, Jerimiah, Devin, and Darius—and a great-grandfather to fourteen great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to his life. Alvin had a zest for life and found joy in simple pleasures, such as savoring peppermints and taking his grandchildren on delightful trips to the farmers market. These outings were not just errands but adventures, filled with stories, laughter, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of his family. A service to honor Alvin's life will be held on August 29, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the D.M. Baker Mortuary, located at 6620 San Juan Ave. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate the life of a truly remarkable man who brought light and love to all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in memory of Alvin's generous spirit and unwavering compassion. Alvin Butler's legacy will forever be cherished by his family and friends. Though he may have left this world, his spirit will continue to inspire love and laughter in the lives of those he touched.
