In Loving Memory of Althea Nalls**
With hearts full of love and remembrance, we celebrate the beautiful life of Althea Nalls, who peacefully entered eternal rest on May 31, 2026. Born July 25, 1959, in Niagara Falls, New York, Althea lived her life with a quiet grace and thoughtful, caring, and deeply rooted in love. She was the cherished daughter of the late Dock Handley and Sallie Mae Ivey, and was preceded in death by her siblings Cornelius Ivey, Richard Handley, Michael Ivey, and Gwen Ivey.
For more than 47 years, Althea shared a devoted and loving marriage with her husband, Frankie Nalls. Together they built a home grounded in faith, generosity, and unwavering care for others. She leaves to cherish her memory her four sons Frankie Jr. (Lauren)Nalls, Cornell (Melissa)Nalls, Isaiah (Rachel), and Garfield (Marissa) each shaped by her gentle guidance and unconditional love. She also embraced her God daughters, Lakisha (Jonathan) Taylor and Nicole (Arnold) Leftwich, with the same open-hearted devotion. Her eleven grandchildren were the light of her life, and she poured her wisdom, patience, and joy into each of them.
Althea’s caring spirit extended throughout her large family, including her siblings Mary Ivey (Miles), Annie Ruth Robinson, Leola Petterson, Barbara Jean Ivey, Dorothy Ivey, and Matthew Handley. She also treasured the love of many nieces, nephews and cousins. Althea shared a special friendship with Christine (Todd) Seals and Sandra Limpkin for over 50 years who were blessed by her kindness and love.
A graduate of Niagara Falls High School Class of 1978; Althea dedicated her life to serving others. With her CNA license and her naturally compassionate heart, she worked with Family and Children Services, Community Mission of Niagara Falls, and spent 30 years with Opportunities Unlimited, where her thoughtful care touched countless lives. Her love for beauty and nature blossomed into a love for Flower & Gardening, a reflection of her gentle creativity and the joy she found in helping things grow.
A woman of deep faith, Althea was a devoted member of Christ Redemption Tabernacle, where she served faithfully on the kitchen committee. She was known for her warm smile, her soft humor, and her ability to make everyone feel welcomed and loved. Whether tending to her garden, browsing garage sales, shopping at JCPenney , or simply sitting with family, Althea moved through life with a caring heart and a spirit full of gratitude.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 31, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Christ Redemption Tabernacle, 339 22nd Street, NF NY 14303. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate team at Strong Memorial Hospital for their loving care.
