July 25, 1959 — May 31, 2026

Althea Nalls, a beacon of light and love, left this world on May 31, 2026, at the age of 66. Born on July 25, 1959, in the enchanting city of Niagara Falls, Althea was a cherished daughter of the late Dock Handley and Sallie Mae Ivey. She now joins her predeceased siblings, Cornelius Ivey, Richard Handley, Michael Ivey, and Gwen Ivey, in eternal rest. In 1980, Althea united in marriage with her beloved Frankie Nalls. Their union, spanning over 47 wonderful years, was a testament to love and companionship, enriched with long laughs and countless memories. Together, they raised four devoted sons—Frankie Jr. (Lauren), Cornell (Melissa), Isaiah (Rachel), and Garfield (Marissa)—and embraced their daughters-in-law as their own, extending their family to include 11 cherished grandchildren. Althea's educational journey began at Niagara Falls High School, where she graduated in 1978. Her pursuit of knowledge continued as she achieved her CNA license and a Doctorate in Flower & Gardening—passions that not only shaped her career but also enriched her personal life. Her professional path began with Family and Children Services, followed by a dedicated tenure at The Community Mission of Niagara Falls. She ultimately retired after 30 fulfilling years at Opportunities Unlimited. A devoted member of Christ Redemption Tabernacle, Althea contributed her culinary skills to the church's kitchen committee and was a steadfast presence in the congregation, always tuning in for Sunday services. Her hobbies reflected her vibrant spirit—she loved gardening, never missing a good deal on flowers, and was a regular at garage sales, always on the lookout for treasures. Rock collecting was another joy, but her greatest delight was spending time with her family. Althea was known for her quick wit and warm smile, always ready with a joke to lighten the mood. She had an innate gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued, and her kindness and generosity touched countless lives. Her legacy of love and compassion leaves an indelible mark on all who knew her. A service to celebrate Althea's life will be held on May 31, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Christ Redemption Tabernacle, located at 123 Niagara Street. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the doctors and specialists at Strong Memorial Hospital for the years of dedicated care provided to Althea. Their expertise and compassion have been a source of comfort and strength. In this time of sorrow, the family extends heartfelt thanks for the prayers, support, and kindness received. Your presence and love have been invaluable as we remember and honor the extraordinary life of Althea Nalls. Her vibrant spirit, unwavering faith, and boundless love will continue to inspire and uplift us, forever etched in our hearts.
