Born in Brooklyn, NY, on December 3, 1947, Alonzo lived a life marked by love, resilience, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. Alonzo was the beloved son of Ida May and spent his early years in the vibrant streets of Brooklyn. He graduated from high school in his hometown, which laid the foundation for a life filled with meaningful endeavors. For several years, Alonzo worked in security, where he was respected for his integrity and commitment to keeping others safe. A man of deep faith, Alonzo was an active member of the Brooklyn Islamic Center, where he found a sense of community and purpose. His involvement in charitable activities and his dedication to helping others were a testament to his generous spirit. He believed in giving back and spent much of his time traveling, engaging in charity work, and, most importantly, being surrounded by his family. Alonzo's family was the heart of his existence. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Deborah Scott, and their children Tariq, Habibah, Saul, Sumayyah, Malikah Usamah, Jumanah, and Quatabah. His legacy continues through his 25 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish the guidance, life lessons, and love he imparted. Alonzo was known for his compassionate nature, treating everyone he met with dignity and respect. He instilled values of resilience and strength in his family, offering guidance and support through life's challenges. His unwavering beliefs and values served as a beacon of light for those around him, and his memory will continue to inspire future generations. A service to honor Alonzo's remarkable life will be held on August 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Brooklyn Islamic Center, located at 722 Church Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11218, United States. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of one's choice, reflecting Alonzo's lifelong commitment to giving. The family wishes to share a special message: "Some people leave this world, but never truly leave us. They live on in the stories we tell, the lessons they taught us, the strength they gave us, and the love they planted in our hearts. His life will forever be a part of our family’s legacy. His memory will remain with us, and his love will continue through every generation that comes after him." Alonzo Morris will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
