Alonzo M. Desport

It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of Alonzo Desport, 78, a devoted father, grandfather, veteran, musician and friend. Alonzo proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. His service reflected the courage, dedication, and sense of duty that remained with him throughout his life. Following his military service, he built a honorable career with the United States Post Office and furthered his education by attending NYU and Columbia University. Outside of work and education, music was one of his greatest passions. He found joy in playing the saxophone and piano, sharing his love of music with family and friends. His talent and appreciation for music brought comfort, happiness, and lasting memores to those who knew him. Above all, Alonzo cherished his family. He is survived by his beloved daughter and two treasured grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of his life. Additionally one brother, two sisters, cousins, and many nieces and nephews. His love, guidance, and unwavering support will be deeply missed but forever remembered. He leaves behind a legacy of service, kindness, perserverance, and love. Though he is no longer with us, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in eternal peace.
