Allen was born on January 15, 1956, in Pell City, Alabama, to the late John Allen Windsor and Marie Michaels West. From a young age, Allen embodied the values of hard work and dedication, attributes that would guide him throughout his life. His journey was marked by an unwavering commitment to his loved ones and an infectious humor that could light up even the darkest of rooms.
In 1974, Allen answered the call to serve his country, joining the United States Marine Corps. His time in the Corps, until 1978, was a testament to his sense of duty and patriotism, qualities that remained with him long after his military service had concluded.
For 37 years, Allen dedicated himself to his craft as a Boilermaker and Steam Fitter, working out of Local 176. His colleagues remember him as an exemplary worker whose quick wit and humor could always bring a smile, even in the most challenging of circumstances. Allen's work ethic was unparalleled, and his ability to lift the spirits of those around him was a gift that touched many lives.
Allen had a profound love for the water, often finding solace and joy in fishing and any activity that involved being near the waves. These moments spent on the water were among his happiest, reflecting a deep connection with nature and a desire to embrace life's simple pleasures.
Above all, Allen was a devoted family man. He is survived by his beloved wife, Karla Smith Windsor, his daughter, Chanda Marie Windsor, and his son, Shane "Bubba" Windsor. He was a proud grandfather to three adoring grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life. Allen's family was the cornerstone of his existence, and his love for them knew no bounds.
