In Loving Memory

Allen Russell King
November 3, 1954 — May 19, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Allen Russell King, who departed this world peacefully in his sleep on May 19, 2026, at Agape Hospice House in Forest City, NC, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born on November 3, 1954, in Gastonia, NC.
He graduated from technical college with a degree in electricity, and was a lead service man with Pitney Bowes' copier company. His entrepreneurial spirit later blossomed with the creation of Kooler Dude, a water fountain repair company he proudly built and eventually sold upon retirement.
A man of faith and community, Allen was a devoted Sunday school teacher at Gelana Park Church of God in Texas. He served as a baseball coach and scout leader as well.
His commitment to community was further shown by his 68-hour hunger strike on a scaffold to support Galena Park. Allen was always ready to lend a helping hand. Which challenges his children and grandchildren to achieve greatness in their lives.
Allen's love for the great outdoors was evident in his enthusiasm for fishing and cooking out. He would often smoke his pipe, filled with cherry cavendish pipe tobacco, which always charmed the squirrels down for a visit.
Allen was the beloved son of the late Donald Eugene and Juanita Medford King. He was preceded in death by sister-in-law, Rebecca King, and a beloved grandson, Jayson Anthony Tyler, whose memories he held dear.
On March 23, 1992, Allen married the love of his life, Denise Jarnigan King, with whom he shared a beautiful journey of 34 years. Together, they built a family filled with love and laughter. Allen is survived by six children:
Russell King(Fawn), Robert King(Kelly), CrystalTyler(Michael), Jennifer Weaver, Amy Weaver, and Christopher Weaver. He was a devoted grandfather to 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren who all loved him dearly.
Allen was also survived by siblings Gary King, Jeffery King(Bertha), Kimberly King(Jimmy), and Sherry King.
Allen leaves behind a world made brighter by his presence, a family bound by his love, and countless lives touched by his kindness. His memory will forever be a beacon of love, strength, and generosity. As we celebrate his life, we hold him close in our hearts, knowing that his legacy will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
