Allen was born on May 21, 1934, in Brooklyn, NY, to his devoted parents, Elías and Ethel Demby. From a young age, Allen exhibited a boundless curiosity and an innate desire to help others, qualities that would define his life’s journey. A man of remarkable intellect and compassion, Allen pursued his education with diligence and graduated, setting the stage for a life dedicated to service and community. His commitment to his country was evident through his honorable service in the Air Force, where he forged lifelong friendships and developed a profound respect for duty and honor. Allen’s professional life was as multifaceted as his interests. As a doctor and investment advisor, he combined his sharp analytical mind with an unwavering dedication to his clients’ well-being. His career was a testament to his belief in the power of knowledge and the importance of sound advice, earning him the respect and admiration of all who had the privilege to work with him. In his personal life, Allen was a devoted husband to his beloved Rima E. Demby, whom he married on June 30. Their union was a partnership of unwavering love, mutual respect, and shared dreams. Although Allen was predeceased by his dear Rima Susan, the love they shared remains a guiding light for their family. Allen was blessed with a large and loving family, including seven cherished grandchildren who were the joy of his life. He was a constant source of wisdom, encouragement, and warmth, always eager to impart his knowledge and share in their accomplishments. His love for his family was matched only by his commitment to philanthropy, as he tirelessly supported causes close to his heart, particularly his generous contributions to Barnard Temple. Outside of his professional and familial commitments, Allen enriched his life through active participation in organizations such as The Lions Club, Tiger 21, and AAII. These memberships were not merely affiliations but extensions of his commitment to community service and personal growth. Allen’s hobbies were numerous and varied, and he was never happier than when pontificating on his many interests. Whether exploring new ideas or sharing laughter with friends, he approached life with enthusiasm and a zest for knowledge that inspired all who knew him. In celebrating Allen’s life, we remember a man whose kindness, integrity, and generosity left an indelible mark on the world. His legacy is one of love, service, and unwavering dedication to those he held dear. As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate a life well-lived, confident that his spirit will continue to guide us.
