Obituary of Alisha Nitoya Clark It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Alisha Nitoya Clark, a beloved daughter, mother, sister, and friend, who departed this world on April 21, 2026, at the age of 46. Born on May 7, 1979, in Newark, NJ, Alisha graced the lives of many with her boundless love and unforgettable spirit. Alisha was born to Christine Clark and the late Kelvin Halsey. Her early years were spent in the vibrant community of Newark, where she was surrounded by the love of her family. She attended East Orange High School in East Orange, NJ, where she formed friendships and experiences that would shape her journey. Alisha was a woman whose presence left a lasting imprint on everyone blessed to know her. She carried a spirit that could not be ignored—full of fire, full of heart. From a young age, she possessed a strength of character that was both loving and strong-willed. Her sense of purpose and conviction was a quiet declaration that she would walk through life on her own terms. Those who knew Alisha knew her love ran deep. She wasn't the kind of person to love halfway; she gave her heart fully. Her resilience carried her through life's ups and downs, facing challenges with the courage and grace that inspired those around her. Even when the road was difficult, she showed strength in the way she kept going, in the way she showed up for others, and in the way she endured. Alisha was more than just her struggles; she was laughter, memories, and the familiar voice that filled a room with warmth. To know her was to know someone real, someone who embraced authenticity and loved wholeheartedly. She taught us about strength, about standing firm in who you are, and about loving people deeply while you can. She leaves behind her cherished sons, Jaleel Clark and Jaheed Smith, who were the light of her life, and her loving mother, Christine Clark. Alisha is also survived by her sisters, Alniesa Clark Peterson, Ayesha Clark, and Sheenah Clark, and her dear grandmother, Victoria Young. Preceded in death by her father, Kelvin Halsey, Alisha's family finds comfort in the thought that they are now reunited. A celebration of Alisha's life will take place on May 9, 2026, at 12:35 PM at Weequahic Park, where a balloon release will honor her memory. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed to her cremation and to those attending the balloon release. Your love and support are deeply appreciated. Today, we do not mourn her passing; we honor her life. We hold on to the lessons she left behind, carrying her in our hearts and memories. Although she is no longer with us in the physical sense, her spirit remains. In every shared story, every echo of her laughter, and every moment of strength we find within ourselves, Alisha lives on. Rest peacefully, Alisha Nitoya Clark. Your love, strength, and spirit will never be forgotten.
