October 24, 1956 — July 27, 2026

Alice M. Zeller (Mather), a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on July 27, 2026, in Goodyear, Arizona. Born on October 24, 1956, in West Orange, New Jersey, Alice was the beloved daughter of George W. and Florence Mather. Her early years were shaped by her loving family, including her sisters Marilyn Mather and Linda Santiago, her brother George W. Mather, and her niece Claire Santiago, all of whom predeceased her. Alice lived a life filled with compassion and care, dedicating nearly 30 years of her career as a registered nurse. Her work in healthcare was more than a job; it was a calling. She approached her role with a dedication to making a difference in the lives of everyone she encountered. Her retirement in 2023 marked the end of a remarkable career, but Alice's nurturing spirit continued to flourish in her personal life. Alice had a deep love for music and was a talented quilter, spending countless hours weaving love and warmth into her creations. Her passion for genealogy and family history connected her to the past, while her avid interest in science fiction spoke to her imaginative and curious nature. Above all, Alice was a devoted mother and caregiver, roles she cherished beyond measure. Her beautiful smile, wit, and sarcastic charisma left an indelible mark on all who knew her. She was a beacon of joy and humor, always ready with a clever remark or a comforting embrace. Alice leaves behind a legacy of love through her sons, Timmy Zeller and Roland D. Drake; her grandchildren, Alistair Grimm and Reagan M. Drake; and her precious great-granddaughter, Eloise Rose. Her nieces, Evelyn Santiago and Arlene Kaczka, will also continue to cherish her memory. A service to celebrate Alice's life will be held on October 24, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Meeting Room at the Hampton Inn Newark/Harrison Riverwalk Hotel, located at 100 Passaic Ave, Harrison, NJ 07029. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association, reflecting Alice's lifelong dedication to health and care. Alice M. Zeller will be remembered for her warmth, her humor, and her unwavering love for her family. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
