Alice LaVonne Halverson Potter

September 17, 1932 — May 20, 2026

Alice LaVonne Halverson Potter, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully departed this world on May 20, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on September 17, 1932, in the small, welcoming town of Crosby, North Dakota, Alice grew up surrounded by the vast beauty of the plains, which instilled in her a deep appreciation for life's simple joys. Alice was the cherished daughter of Blank Halverson and Amy Henfer, and she shared her childhood with her dear brother, Harvey Halverson. Her early years were filled with love, laughter, and the values that would guide her throughout her life. After completing her education, Alice devoted herself to her family and community. She found her life's greatest partnership in Dean Potter, her loving husband of 63 years. Together, they built a family rooted in love, faith, and a shared commitment to serving others. Alice is survived by her devoted children and their families, including three grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life, and five great-grandchildren who were the light of her later years. Alice was a dedicated homemaker, where her warmth and talent for baking turned every meal into a cherished family gathering. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, filled with the comforting aroma of her legendary pies and cookies, which were always made with an extra measure of love. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her family to her community work. Alice was a hospital volunteer coordinator in Kalispell for many years, where her kindness and organizational skills were invaluable. Her gentle presence brought comfort to those in need, and her dedication inspired all who had the privilege of working alongside her. A faithful servant of the Lord, Alice was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church for many years. Her faith was her guiding light, and she served her church family with the same devotion she showed her own. Her involvement in various church activities demonstrated her unwavering commitment to her beliefs and her community. Alice had a gift for making those around her feel special. Her hobbies and interests reflected her generous spirit; she was known for her beautiful garden, where she spent countless hours nurturing plants and sharing the fruits of her labor with neighbors and friends. Her love for nature was only surpassed by her love for people. Alice's life will be celebrated on May 26, 2026, at 1:00 PM, in a service held at the Bethel Baptist Church. It will be a time to remember the laughter she shared and the love she gave so freely. While we mourn her passing, Alice's legacy of love and service will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and the countless lives she touched. We bid farewell to a remarkable woman who lived her life with grace, compassion, and an unwavering faith in the goodness of humanity.
