Alice Evelyn Jones Sparkman, a beloved mother and cherished community member, passed away gently on October 24, 2026. Born on May 6, 1932, in the serene countryside of Maury County, Tennessee near Spring Hill, Alice was the treasured daughter of J. Ridley Jones and Willie Beasley Jones.
Alice's journey through life was marked by her unwavering dedication to family, community, and personal passions. She graduated from Spring Hill High School in 1949 and furthered her education at Business College in Columbia, Tennessee, with a specialization in bookkeeping. This foundation helped her navigate the intricacies of both professional and personal life with grace and precision.
On April 2, 1954, Alice married the love of her life, Ollie Sparkman, in a beautiful ceremony in Tupelo, Mississippi. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter until Ollie's passing. Their union was blessed with a son, Joseph Hunt Sparkman, who resides in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Alice was known for her dry humor, a trait she inherited from her father, which endeared her to everyone she met. She was an avid reader of non-fiction, a lover of both dogs and cats, and a passionate collector of antiques. Her interest in local history and her love for the outdoors reflected her deep connection to her roots and community. A strong believer in equality for all, Alice lived her life doing for others and treating everyone with kindness and respect.
A devoted member of the Church of Christ, Alice found solace and strength in her faith, which guided her through life's joys and challenges. Her generosity and compassion extended beyond her immediate circle, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Alice leaves behind her son, Joseph, who carries forward the legacy of love and kindness she so effortlessly imparted. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Ollie, with whom she is now reunited.
