Alice C. Harewood

Alice C. Harewood, a beloved matriarch and beacon of faith, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2026, at the age of 96. Born on June 18, 1930, in the serene surroundings of Tortola, British Virgin Islands, Alice was the cherished daughter of Mr. Allan and Althea Harrigan. Her journey in life was marked by love, faith, and an unwavering commitment to her family and community. In 1950, Alice married the love of her life, Mr. Neil Harewood, on May 3. Their union was blessed with two wonderful children, Neilja Harewood and Neil Harewood II. Together, Alice and Neil created a home filled with warmth and happiness until Neil's passing in 1991, after 41 years of marriage. Her legacy is carried forward by her children, her sister Lilithe Mercedes Naar, and her grandchildren: Darrell Worelds of Los Angeles, CA; Devron Worelds of Queens, NY; Mikhaila Harewood of Las Vegas, NV; and Jaxon Harewood of Los Angeles, CA. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Davontay and Dezhon Worelds, Makhai Coleman, and great-great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Aleena Worelds, as well as a host of loving nieces and nephews. Alice's faith was a guiding light in her life. She was an active and devoted member of Wild Fire Church in Apopka, FL, where she served as the Senior prayer leader and was revered as one of the church's matriarchs. Before her time at Wild Fire Church, Alice was affectionately known as "Mother Alice" at New Covenant Perfecting Ministries Church, where she was a cherished member of the Mother's ministry for many years. Beyond her spiritual commitments, Alice remained vibrant and active throughout her life. She enjoyed participating in a Senior chair exercise group at the Fran Carlton and Billy Dean Centers, where she was adored by all who knew her. Her passion for taking care of her pets and her daily ritual of emailing scriptures to loved ones were testaments to her nurturing spirit and dedication to spreading love and positivity. Alice was known for her quick wit, warm smile, and infectious laughter. She embraced independence but never hesitated to open her door to friends and family, always ready to share a moment of joy or a comforting word. In honor of Alice's memory, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society - Breast Cancer Fund. As we remember Alice, we hold close a special message from her family, a beautiful reminder of her enduring spirit: "Do not stand at my grave and weep; I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush, I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds' encircled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there. I did not die." Alice C. Harewood's legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched with her kindness, faith, and boundless love. May she rest in eternal peace.
