In the tender embrace of love and remembrance, we honor the life of Aleyamma Varkey, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend. Born on October 1, 1939, in the serene village of Keezhillam, Aleyamma's journey through life was a tapestry woven with compassion, resilience, and unwavering faith. She peacefully departed this world on November 21, 1994, after a courageous battle with cancer, leaving behind a legacy that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew her. Aleyamma was the cherished daughter of Varkey and Mariyamma, and throughout her life, she carried the values instilled in her by her loving parents. Though she was predeceased by her father, her mother Mariyamma survives her, as do her devoted children, Tony and Tiny, who were the light of her life. Aleyamma's legacy is further carried on by her four treasured grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride. In her youth, Aleyamma pursued her calling to serve others by completing a nursing course at the prestigious Christian Medical College (CMC) in Vellore. Her dedication to healing and care took her to Doha, where she devoted her entire career to nursing, retiring as a head nurse at Hamad General Hospital. Her compassionate touch and unwavering dedication to her patients, ranging from children to the elderly, left an indelible mark on countless lives. Aleyamma's work transcended borders as she traveled with patients to their home countries, ensuring they were cared for with dignity and love. Aleyamma's marriage to P T Varkey was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Together, they built a life filled with warmth and laughter, raising their two children in an atmosphere of care and understanding. Their union, which spanned nearly 30 years, was a source of strength and inspiration to all who knew them. An ardent believer in Christ, Aleyamma's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was an active member of her church community both in Doha and upon her retirement at home, where she continued to serve and support her fellow congregants. Her faith fueled her boundless kindness and her gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued was a testament to her generous spirit. Aleyamma's life was a beacon of love and selflessness, not only to her family but to her community. She had an innate ability to make those around her feel cared for and cherished, always extending her warmth and hospitality to family, friends, and even strangers. In accordance with her wishes, a private funeral ceremony was held to celebrate Aleyamma's extraordinary life. Her family finds solace in the love she left behind and the countless lives she touched with her kindness and grace. Aleyamma Varkey's spirit will continue to live on through her family, her friends, and the countless individuals who were blessed to know her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and faith that will forever light the way for those who follow in her footsteps.
