Alexis Johnson
February 19, 1993 — March 20, 2026
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alexis Johnson, a beloved daughter, sister, wife, and friend. Alexis departed this world peacefully in her sleep on March 20, 2026, at the tender age of 33. Born on February 19, 1993, in the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois, Alexis brought light and love into the lives of everyone she met.
Alexis was the cherished daughter of Angela C. and Mychal J., who raised her in an atmosphere of love and support. Her grandfather, John C., predeceased her, but she is survived by a close-knit family that includes her sister Amanda, brothers Jikai and Andre, and cousins Darien, Shalon, and Patrick, along with countless friends who became family over the years.
In 2011, Alexis graduated from OTHS, laying the foundation for a lifelong journey of learning and discovery. Her academic pursuits led her to Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE), where she proudly earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in 2026. Alexis furthered her education at the City University of New York (CUNY), where she completed her master's degree in Industrial Organization Psychology, demonstrating her commitment to understanding and improving the human experience in the workplace.
For seven years, Alexis dedicated herself to her career in Human Resources, where her compassion and empathy truly shone. Her entrepreneurial spirit motivated her to own and operate her own consulting firm, where she continued to make a significant impact on those around her.
Alexis was a proud and active member of several organizations that were dear to her heart, including Living the World Church in Collinsville, the NAACP, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. Her involvement in these communities reflected her dedication to service and her unwavering commitment to making the world a better place.
Her zest for life and infectious laughter were just a few of the qualities that defined Alexis. She had a remarkable ability to see joy in every situation and was always the first to offer a helping hand, often with a humorous remark that lightened the heaviest of hearts. Alexis found joy in creating art, exploring new cuisines, and kayaking through nature's wonders. Her greatest happiness, however, came from spending time with her family and friends, who were the cornerstones of her life.
For 15 beautiful years, Alexis shared her life with her devoted husband, Don Julio. Together, they traveled the world, creating treasured memories and experiencing life's many wonders.
In accordance with Alexis's wishes, a private funeral ceremony was held, allowing her family and closest friends to say their goodbyes in an intimate setting. To honor her memory, donations can be made to the American Red Cross, an organization Alexis deeply admired for its humanitarian efforts.
The Johnson family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have reached out in this time of mourning. They wish to leave you with a special message: "Thank you to all who attended and a warm prayer for the family. Always stay close, no matter what time comes between you."
Alexis Johnson's life was a testament to the power of kindness, laughter, and love. She will be dearly missed, but her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
