Alexandra Singer Nagy

Alexandra Singer Nagy, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on August 6, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 4, 1944, in Dimmitt, Texas, Alexandra was the cherished daughter of Robert and Mary Lee Singer. She is now reunited with them and her siblings, sister Doris Singer and brothers Bob and Lloyd Singer, in eternal peace. Alexandra met the love of her life, Steve Nagy, while dancing at Debonair Dance in Dallas. Their love story blossomed into a beautiful marriage of 53 years, beginning in June 1974. Together, they built a family filled with love and laughter, raising two children, Robin Hope-McCleery and Stephen Nagy. Her legacy continues through her devoted grandchildren—Shelby, Kenny, Brandon, Brittany, Shane, Rylee, and Camden—as well as her cherished great-grandchildren, Grayson, Kaiden, and Kai Le. Raised in a home that valued education, Alexandra graduated from Dimmitt High School in 1962. Her love for learning led her to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Texas Tech in 1966, where she also spent a memorable summer at the University of Hawaii in Oahu. Her dedication to education continued as she completed a second Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from East Texas State in Commerce in 1986. Alexandra dedicated her professional life to serving others, first as a social worker with the City of Dallas Social Services, where her compassion and commitment impacted countless lives. Later, she shared her passion for literature as a high school English teacher, inspiring young minds at Terrell ISD and substituting throughout the Rockwall and Wylie areas. An active member of her community, Alexandra was a dedicated bridge player at the Rockwall Community Center and an avid reader with a love for literature and historical studies. She was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a faithful congregant of the First Baptist Church of Rockwall. Outside of her professional and community commitments, Alexandra found joy in her hobbies. She cherished her time spent reading, tending to her garden, and learning the intricacies of the stock market alongside her brothers. Known for her loyalty and trustworthiness, she was a God-fearing woman whose life was a testament to her devotion to her family and her unyielding faith. Alexandra's presence will be deeply missed, but the warmth of her spirit will continue to illuminate the lives of all who knew her.
