Celebrating the Life of Alexander Thomas Sanfilippo It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alexander Thomas Sanfilippo, a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. Born on February 7, 2002, in St. Louis, Alex was a remarkable young man who touched many lives with his kind soul and brilliant mind. Alex was the cherished son of Diane (Dunham) Sanfilippo and Steve Sanfilippo, and a loving brother to his sister Virginia Sanfilippo. He was the treasured grandson of Judy Dunham and Marilyn Sanfilippo. Though preceded in death by his grandfathers, David Dunham and Vince Sanfilippo, and his Uncle Tom Sanfilippo, Alex’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort and pride for his family. He is survived by his devoted aunts Lynn and Sue, uncles Ted, Doug, and Rich, as well as his cousins Brandon (Katie), Nathan (Lauren), and Austin (Claire). A proud graduate of Eureka High School, Alex was an honor roll student who embraced learning with a passion. He graduated in 2020 and chose to follow in his father’s footsteps by becoming an I.B.E.W. union electrician. Known for his hardworking nature and his keen intelligence, Alexander was respected by his peers and colleagues alike. From a young age, Alex had a curious and creative spirit. He spent countless hours engrossed in building with Legos, fashioning objects from bread ties and clay, and constructing sand dams. His love for science was evident in the experiments he would explain with remarkable clarity and enthusiasm. As he grew older, Alex found joy in video gaming, exploring caves, hiking, and collecting geodes, fossils, and quartz. His adventures led him to a world filled with natural wonders, and he was always eager to share his discoveries with others. His knack for creating big firecrackers was a testament to his inventive and daring nature. Alex was known for his quiet strength, sensitivity, and observant nature. His intensity and dedication to everything he pursued were admired by all who knew him. Despite his quiet demeanor, he had a profound impact on those around him, offering support and friendship in his own unique way. A service to honor and celebrate Alex’s life will be held on February 7, 2027, at 1:00 PM at Romaine Valley, located at 1676 Romaine Creek Rd., Fenton, MO 63026.
