Alexander James Esver Sr.
August 12, 1958 — October 12, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Alexander James Esver Sr., a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and cherished friend. Alexander departed this world peacefully at home on October 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on August 12, 1958, in Santa Rita, Guam, Alexander was the cherished son of the late Tony and Dolores Esver. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Mars Esver, Joseph Taitano, and Albert Esver. Despite these losses, Alexander's spirit remained unbroken, and he continued to share his light with those around him.
Alexander was a proud graduate of Harry Ells, where he laid the foundation for a life characterized by hard work and dedication. He spent many years as a street sweeper, a job that he approached with diligence and pride, knowing that his efforts contributed to the community he loved. Beyond his career, Alexander was an active member of Judah, where he found camaraderie and a sense of belonging.
He found joy in the simplest of pleasures, whether it was playing a game of dominoes or listening to his favorite music. Yet, his greatest joy came from spending time with his children: Ronvel Sharper, Kevin Wiley, Alexander Esver Jr., Randell Williams, Shunte Esver, Juanquin Esver, Jaelen Esver, Isaiah Haynes, Precious Haynes, and Destiney Haynes. His legacy lives on through his 12 grandchildren and his great-grandchild, who will continue to carry forward his indomitable spirit.
Alexander was a man of many talents, but he will be most fondly remembered for his big heart and his ability to make everyone feel welcome. Known as “Pops” to many, he was the life of the party, often bestowing nicknames with affection and humor. He was a fighter, but his capacity for love was even greater, embracing all with open arms and a warm smile.
He is survived by his brothers, Beetle Esver, Tomas Taitano, Arthur Esver, Andrew Esver, and Angelo Esver, who will continue to honor his memory alongside his extended family and friends.
A service to celebrate Alexander's life will be held on November 7, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Judah the Gathering in Alameda. The family invites all who knew Alexander to join them in honoring a life well-lived and a man well-loved.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of choice, reflecting Alexander's generous spirit and his commitment to helping others.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who visited, called, or sent prayers in these trying times. Special thanks are owed to the dedicated doctors and nurses who cared for Alexander with compassion and respect.
Alexander James Esver Sr. will be missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love, laughter, and resilience will continue to inspire us forever.
