It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Alex A. Nonon on May 26, 2026. Born on December 7, 1973, in Brooklyn, NY, Alex enriched the lives of all who knew him with his boundless generosity, infectious spirit, and unwavering love for his family and friends. He was a beacon of light for many, always ready to lend a helping hand or a friendly smile to those in need. The beloved son of Albert Nonon and Hazel Clark Mesias, Alex grew up with the values of kindness and selflessness instilled by his family. Predeceased by his sister Urzula Nonon, stepfather Rodqiue Mesias, grandmother Vilma Scantlebury, and grandfather Daniel Clarke, Alex cherished his family above all else. He leaves behind a tapestry of love and memories that will be cherished by many. Alex shared a beautiful life with his fiancée, Kayla, with whom he spent 19 joyful years. Together, they created a warm and nurturing home, raising their son, Malakai, and daughters Alexandrea, Alexis, Justice, Danieja, Xela, Urzula, and Tianna. His children were his pride and joy, and he relished every moment spent with them, instilling in them his passion for life and love of music. A dedicated and hardworking construction worker, Alex was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to his craft. He took immense pride in his work, always striving to build a better world for his family. Alex's hobbies reflected his vibrant personality and zest for life. He enjoyed fixing remote cars, riding dirt bikes, and working on automobiles. His greatest passion, however, was music—a true love that he shared with his son, Malakai. Together, they created a symphony of memories that will echo in the hearts of those who knew him. Survived by his siblings Daliah Campbell, Albert Nonon, Melissa Singleton and her husband Lamar, Howard Mesias, Chelena Nonon, and Enrique Nonon, Alex was a cherished brother and uncle. His nieces Latifah, Judith, Mia, and Destiny, and nephews Tyrell, Daiquan, Marc, Kylan, and Camran, will fondly remember their uncle's laughter and kindness. Beyond his immediate family, Alex leaves behind a legacy of friendship and love, having touched countless lives with his selflessness and compassion. His friends remember him as the life of the party, a man who always put others before himself and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Alex is also survived by his 11 grandchildren, each carrying forward his legacy of love and laughter. His family takes solace in knowing that his mind has found the peace his heart had been searching for, and his soul has found rest in the arms of the Lord. A service to celebrate Alex's life will be held on June 7, 2026, at Goodrich Funeral Home, located at 128 Washington St., Lynn, MA 01902. For those unable to attend in person, a livestream of the service will be available at Livestream Link. In these moments of grief, we find comfort in the love Alex shared with us all. His spirit will live on in our hearts, and his memory will be cherished forever.
