It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Aleata R. Boyd, a beacon of compassion and strength, who left this world on June 30, 2026. Born on May 19, 1963, in Plainfield, NJ, Aleata was the beloved daughter of Kumye A. Body and Troy Boyd. She was a cherished sister, mother, and friend who touched the lives of many with her kindness and unwavering support.
Aleata was educated in the Plainfield public school system and proudly graduated from Plainfield High School. Her journey of learning did not stop there; she pursued higher education with vigor, earning her Master’s degree in Drug Rehabilitation from Kean University. This achievement was a testament to her dedication to helping others, a calling she fulfilled throughout her life.
For over 15 years, Aleata made a significant impact as a compassionate professional at New Jersey Recovery Solutions. Her work in addiction recovery transformed countless lives, offering hope and healing to those she served. Her career was not just a job; it was a mission that she embraced with her entire heart.
Outside of her professional life, Aleata was a devoted volunteer, guiding others through recovery with empathy and encouragement. Her passion for helping others was matched only by her love for crafting, where her creativity flourished through the creation of custom jewelry. Each piece she made was a testament to her artistry and the love she infused into everything she did.
Aleata’s warmth and humor were infectious, her quick wit and bright smile leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. She was a steady presence, always ready with a listening ear, a comforting word, or a helping hand. Her spirit was a guiding light, and her legacy of love and laughter will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Aleata leaves behind her loving children: daughters Nina Boyd of Rahway, NJ, Dominque Boyd of Plainfield, NJ, Desara Boyd of Newark, NJ, and Asia Boyd of Rahway, NJ; and her son, Tyree Boyd of Newark, NJ. She is also survived by her brothers, Troy Boyd and Kayson Boyd of Plainfield, NJ; her sister, Siddeequah Cobb (Lawrence) of Poinciana, FL; and a host of loving nieces and nephews. Aleata was preceded in death by her cherished sister, Nina Boyd of Plainfield, NJ. She was a proud grandmother to ten wonderful grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life.
